| Leda, daughter of Thestius and the wife of Tyndareus, known as the queen of Sparta, was seduced by Zeus who came to her in the form of a swan. Myth says from this union Leda bore an egg, from which sprung the twins Castor and Pollux (the twins of Gemini fame.) |
